CURRITUCK DUCK HUNTING

Postby deathtube » Wed Jan 09, 2008 12:50 pm

Going huntin' next week in south Currituck Sound. Are there any ducks here? If so what are people killing?
Thanks,

Plan to call my bud, and see how they done this past Sat.

I'll be down the 17th, 18th and 19th.

Some divers are showing up, it has been real hit or miss with the weather. It was good last week when the impoundments surrounding the sound all froze up.

What are my chances of getting drawn for a brush blind this season? I was hoping to get a float blind permit but I guess none of them will be issued this season. If you don't get a brush of floating blind permit are you just screwed? Is their another way to hunt the sound? Thanks Guys

You can hunt within a few yards of Game Land shorelines but that's about it. The rest of Currituck Sound is private waters for those lucky enough to get a permit. Makes the Safe Hunter law look rather benign.

Your chances are just as good as everybody elses. You just have to go to the game commisions web site see which blinds are open and apply. Do some research to see where the blinds are located. YOu might get a blind in poplar branch and wonder if you wanna travel that far to hunt.

If they re-apply and pay their fee - yes.

If they forget too renew, or decided not too - then no.
