just kidding. Mountains are not noted for duck hunting in NC. However, one summer my wife and I visited the Chimney Rock area. Stayed in a Hotel on Lake Lure. Lots of mallards on the lake. they came every evening for the tourist to feed them. I doubt they are fed now but the birds should be somewhere on the lake. Scout, put out some decoys, and hope for the best.

Yeah. I'm in the Army so no ch to scout prior. I do not even know if I can hunt lake lure. Tried finding a GW number to ask basic questions on legality issues. Can't find anything that says Lure is off limmits, but I want to know the proximity issues since theres a lot of houses/traffic on tourist ponds
I don't think hunting lake lure is legal. There used to be a special annual boat permit just to get a boat on there. Good luck I hope you find out otherwise
