Looking to take a Trip to ND!

Postby hsfd199 » Tue Aug 21, 2012 2:19 pm

Hello all I am from South Carolina. Im looking to take a trip to North Dakota for a duck hunting trip in the near future. I have done some research but nothing beats the tips from people that live there and have been before. I have all equipment, boat decoys, and gun. I would like to do some hunting at devils lake or some potholes in the surrounding area. Should i get a guide the first time up there or just wing it? I know public duck hunting in the altantic flyway is totaly different than in north dakota, 15 minutes and your done. I am just looking for any tips good, bad, or indifferent. I dont want to be that non resident A** Hole that hunts in someone else back yard. Thanks for any advice!

The more you scout, the more you'll get out of it. Try to get as far away from Devils Lake as possible to find access and less hunting pressure.
