Moving to Bismarck For College

Postby Lemieux55 » Mon Nov 19, 2012 9:12 am

I am moving to Bismarck, ND at the end of next summer due to college. I will be looking into duck and goose hunting like crazy! Does anybody got any input or need another gun/caller?

Welcome!

First off...what school and what degree path are you going for?

My input from living there in the past...be ready to put on miles to scout because of the amount of posted land. Have any open mind and don't expect to get limits and see the sky dark with birds everyday.

Give us some info about yourself to see if anyone would want to hunt with you.

You'll love Bismarck if you like to spend a lot of time outdoors.

Don't be afraid to bring your fishing gear either....it's a hardcore fishing town.

I love Bismarck. I lived and taught in Center for a year and went to school in Dickinsin and Grand Forks. If they paid teachers more I never would have left. Get yourself a plots map and a couple of road maps and scout all the WMUs and plots land you can find. I never felt the need to hunt private and due to the amount of public land available. It never hurts to ask around though. You will love Bismarck. North Dakotans are some of the best people in the world. I plan on moving back when I retire.
