So what's the water and snow situation look like up there right now. Our season in Texas just ended and now it's time to look forward to next season.

Compared to alot of other states we haven't had much snow this winter. I predict another dry spring and summer. Dont mean to whizz in anybody's Cheerios but I think that we are in the beginning of a dry cycle.

ANything west of the MO river in ND and SD has no snow all winter. Eastern 1/3 had decent amount ogf snow. but to offset the drought of last year, we needed a LOT of snow. That did not happen. Dry conmditions extend into southerm 1/4 of SK and AB too

How are things looking now. Did the recent rains and snows help out the conditions any. Looks like the eastern 1/3 of the states has seen good precip. lately.

The precip help a little with water but the down side is the lack of nesting cover. Alot of sloughs from the 90's and early 00's dried up last year and farmers tilled them under so that they could be put back into crop production. All the water in the world wont mean a hill of beans without nesting cover.
