potholes or fields

Postby iggyr2007 » Thu Jun 14, 2007 1:31 pm

I was just wondering everyone's opinion on what they prefer potholes or fields. Im from a Iowa and we do alot of duck hunting but mostly on the Mississippi river. I was really planning on making a trip either to rugby or devils lake area and was just wondering if a guy should concentrate on fields, potholes, or lake systems thank you for your time.

Without a doubt...fields. The potholes can be good during midday hunt, but if you can find a field they're feeding in all you'll need is a few goose dekes.

You can see A LOT about this topic at www.nodakoutdoors.com/forums The owner of this site owns that one as well.

Good luck...

Fields. Just as productive as water if not more and you will not push birds out of the area like hunting the water.
