NW corner water conditions?

Postby faust2 » Sat Sep 13, 2008 8:02 pm

Can anyone tell me what the conditions in the NW corner of the state are like? Are the larger sloughs and potholes holding enough water for decoy hunting or are we looking at big mud flats? Any insight aprreciated. Thanks.

Water conditions on the entire western half are horrible. I was up north of Minot on Friday...not good.

We'll need a migration this year, it'll be tough with few locals.

water conditions as of sept 28th:

The entire western half of North Dakota is extremly dry smaller ponds are not mud but dirt. from minot to devils lake some larger ponds holding ducks but not near the number of ducks normally,

devils lake area the lake itself is holding thousands of ducks and looks to be the place to be,

garrison audubon area lots of geese and ducks on the big waters bit again smaller ponds are bone dry.

eastern half better water conditions but not nearly enough

missouri river the only place where water conditions actually rising due too winter run off.

look for big water and larger ponds the small potholes just dont exist this year
ya got time relax
