The freeze is on!

Postby bluebilldays » Fri Nov 25, 2005 9:25 pm

Just a heads up! Had a magee pick today. They would not let anyone hunt magee today and only eleven areas in ottowa. Sandusky bay is totally frozen over on the west end. Not to sure about the east end, but talked to a few people that said it was frozen solid all the way to johnson island. If you have a magee pick, good luck, may want to head to some local ponds that are still open. All public marshes and rivers are frozen in most western areas. I am going to head to the lake tomarrow. Seems the only choice but probaly will hit the divers pretty good in the layouts. Good luck boys, just wish the bay was in better shape.

Hey BlueBill... thanks for the report.. keep me updated on Sandusky Bay.
I'd like to come up during the second half.

On the East side of the state.. we hunted Mosquito Thurs, Sat, Sun.
Some guy's in very select spots did well.. the rest got shut out.
We were part of the shut out !!!
There are some divers.. buffleducks.. mergs.. hoodies showing up.
A few bunches of mallards... 15-20 in a bunch.
The lake is starting it's freeze.. water level is high, so if today's heat lasts, we'll get a hunt in this weekend.
