Early Season Teal

Postby LouisianaFowler » Thu Aug 19, 2010 2:04 am

I'm back home in Alabama trying to track numbers in our flyway. How is it in Ohio? I do not need specific location, just general state info. Thanks

I've seen a few but my experience in Mid-Ohio is late September and early October is when most birds come through. It'd still 85/90 degrees up here.

We did see a lot of bluewings saturday out on the river. But, I think Morgans canoe would be pissed if I floated the river in one of there canoes and shot some ducks.

What river? There used to be a Morgans on the Mad, now it's Aarons... and I did see a guy set up just downriver from them last year.

I've only ever used Rivers Edge outside Waynesville. Used to take boy scout groups through there when I worked for the summer camp.

Be interesting to see if the latest little cold front moves anything.

Seems like most areas where I would Teal hunt is also Woody heaven so care is needed. Early goose...hit and miss around me...sure seems like the time of year you can sit and see nuthin' on the goose front.

It's commin' boys!! Hit the range with friends last weekend and sucked on the trap range but was 90% on the Skeet so at least I have a chance on the doves.
