Titz. Time wise, how long from your door step to Lakeview?

Oh, maybe a touch more than an hour?

You are more than welcome to hunt with me, but to answer the canvasbacks we will have to see who gets that blind this year. If its not a group that hunts it a lot then we can take our chances and schedule something and hope they aren't in it. If its the group from last year, they hunt almost every day.

You should come down for the drawing then. Hook up with our group. After opening weekend I am usually the only one that hunts except for a weekend here and there. Its mostly all my family, grandpa's, uncles, cousins. I think my wife is going to come this year.

Ok, got my new job offer today. But, I'm still in since it comes with a weeks vacation that I must use by Dec 31, so I'm good there for a mid week date.

Yes the drawing is 8 am Aug 18th, you need a valid Ohio hunting license and both stamps, so If you are in KY I don't know if you can do it. You should call ODNR and clarify, I went into the central office a couple weeks ago to clarify some regulations for my son ( he is 15 now, will be 16 mid season) and they were full of info and just started handing me every bit of information I needed and anything they thought I may need.

I'm going to scout Big Island for Doves either the 15th or 16th of Aug, I'll be sure to count ducks as well.
If you see the ammo in my avatar on sale anywhere, please let me know, thanks.

I went through that 15 into 16 during season crap last year with my brother in law. They didn't want to let him put in for the draw because he didn't have his stamp. Ended up letting him after I had a chat with them. What did they end up making you do?

I had to get his federal stamp. He does not need it on the draw date, but he will need it on and after his birthday, so I got him one when I got mine just to simplify things and not have to worry about it later.

I also had to get his apprentice license to enter him in youth hunt drawings since he does not take his test until the 10th of Aug and the due date for entry of drawings was the 31st of July.

ODNR also told me NOT to enter him in the under 16 drawings since he was going to turn 16 before the dates of some of the hunts.

Advice for everyone, have your children in the summer.

I have my dog and will probably bring her. Have an otter sneak boat that I will sometimes drag along with me, but usually just sleds, not many places that I hunt that I can't wade.

I will be honest. Ive been in one fight in my life, and it was a pitiful one at that. So I wouldn't bother. I do however carry a .40 about everywhere I go. I am a good shot.

We gotta go a ways for waffle house. We can eat at the resort I put in at. Awesome biscuits and gravy.

Hey titz, If you want to we can go get breakfast at a little bar down from where the drawing is. It will also put you on the right track for home after your done. A couple of us usually go eat afterwards.

Will this materialize this year?

Sadly I'm changing jobs right now, So I will have very few vacation days, so a weekday hunt, which I feel is the best option because it opens up more places to hunt with less pressure, would be difficult for me.

But I would be all in on a weekend.

Maybe we could try the early goose season as warm up before everyone gets settled into their "spots" for the regular season.

except Sept. 1 I'll be out for Doves.
