So far..

Postby BuckeyeZac » Mon Oct 28, 2013 1:07 pm

It got quiet around here... so let's hear it. How y'all doing?

Saw birds opening weekend in north central ohio, but last weekend was rough. What birds were around opening weekend must have moved out last week.

Week 1:
Decent numbers of woodies. Saw a few mallards and a couple blacks as well. Geese were EVERYWHERE.

Week 2:
Few mallards, didn't really go to a wood duck hole but did see a couple. Geese were nearly non-existent.

My attention will probably turn to deer hunting for the next month so I might not get out again until after Thanksgiving. Can't wait to get some migrators!

I love sunrise over a pond, or lake with decoys on it....
If you see the ammo in my avatar on sale anywhere, please let me know, thanks.

I went this morning. Geese were non-existent. Only saw 4 ducks and shot 2 of them. They happened to be drake and hen wigeon. A first!

Good job Zac! Never killed a wigeon before, I would have called both of those drakes.
Do a barrel roll.

t_baker that woodie on the far left in your fourth picture is one of the prettiest woodies I've seen. Need to put him on the wall.

Pretty sure they are both drakes... Awesome either way, congrats... I've only killed one and it was a couple years ago in Nebraska... Still regret not mounting it

Sugar is a mythical place, with unicorns and sugar plum ferries. It's a majestic place. I mean moth8rf^@king majestic. Like a bald eagle getting a hand job from the statue of liberty herself.
