I only had Monday to deer hunt. I was able to put down a huge doe at 116 yards with iron sights on my old 870. Good enough for me. Back to birds.

Didn't see squat for deer. I'm going duck hunting Saturday. We had a decent opening day.
I hope someday someone remembers this old dog with kindness and gives me to a puppy.

Looks like this weekend is shaping up to be good weather wise, were planning to be out Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Drive safe to all going out tomorrow, looks like it could get pretty nautical in central Ohio.

Deer Hunting this weekend.

Blind is in the South zone anyway, so it mostly works out, sort of, maybe.
If you see the ammo in my avatar on sale anywhere, please let me know, thanks.

I agree, but the wind at my blind is going to be right in my face. Not so good.

In a debacle deciding if I want to put the decoys way out in front, or break up a couple groups to each side and leave in front of the blind open. Just cant decide what is going to work best.

Literally stood in my office shaking my fist out the window this morning. I hate how the news and the weatherman makes it sound like the apocalypse is fast approaching and then all you get is a dusting of snow.

Went this morning at Delaware Wildlife area... NO DUCKS!!! Well, two woodys flew at before legal shooting. About 100+ geese came of the main lake, but not low enough to shoot at when they got to me. I'm from NC, been here about 6 months now and haven't found any decent places yet. It looked like the mallards and geese were on the river this morning. I've scouted Big Island and looks like a nice marsh, but I went on opening weekend and it was all frozen over. I did see a group of, what I think was, Bluebills but that was it. Any one hunted Big Island this late? How is it?
