Any ducks around Mansville?

Postby Live to Hunt & Fish » Mon Nov 29, 2004 7:29 pm

Has anyone done any hunting in or around Mansville? I was thinking of doing some public hunting there but i haven't got the chance to check it out.

I am from Mannsville. It is a good place to hunt if you have the time to go scout. There are several public places to hunt around there. Some are better than others. Good luck if you go down there.

Postby OklaDrake » Sun Nov 27, 2005 6:40 pm

Madill here and new to the area....hunted Tishomingo NWR saw a few birds....

Not enough hunting to keep the birds moving....mostly saw woodies and a few Mallards...

Looking for a waterfowling buddy to go with...hate to hunt alone, too dangerous...

Luck to all and i go through Mannsville everyday i work...

Where do you work. A lot of public land that is good. It gets better during the second season

I work for Carbonyx, its a plant just to the north of Dollar General at the Air Park in Gene Autry..... So far all I have found either no water where there should be on sloughs on public hunting land, or no access to what looks to be good waterfowling on private lands. Checked out the Texoma/Washita ARM up around Randolph lake and bottom,,,, but didnt see where i could easily walk in carrying equip....Also am very interested in Goose hunting... I have seen several large groups along the Washita River on wheat fields north of Dickson...

So far Tishomingo waterfowl unit is a good bet. Hopefully will have more birds in soon..

All that cold should push some down. I know a few people over buy Dickson which side of the road are the geese on? If they are on the east that belongs to Dillon Page. He may let some one hunt.
