...states that border Oklahoma, which one would you travel to and freelance hunt? If you say Arkansas then say what your second choice would be.

No doubt Texas even though public land is so limited. I vote that based on the fact I am a cheap old fart and do NOT like to pay guides, out-of-state fees, gas money, etc for something I can do in my back yard, basically for free. Soooooo, hypotheticaly, if I am going to pay extra money, I'll do it chasing birds I can't get here, and/or in situations I can't hunt here. Specifically, I'd probably concentrate on coastal Texas (more SE the better) and hunt for mounters like late season BWT and Cinnies, Mottled and Mexican ducks, and tree ducks.

I've hunted Texas and it was great! I would like to hunt Kansas and Missouri. Arkansas would be nice if I had private land to go on. Colorado might be interesting....

Kansas, making a trip out there for their opening weekend this year.

Since the lake I live next to is in Texas as well as Oklahoma it would have to be Texas and since I spent my first 50 years living on or near the gulf coast in Texas that would come into play. Second choice would be Arkansas as I am close to it and have some family and friends there.

I think they are dryer than we are but it is a beautiful state.

I was going to actually say Colorado but will never spend money there again after their stance on the second amendment.

Didn't they just vote two politicians(democrats) out of office for supporting anti-gun policies and replace them with republicans?

Went there two summers ago and didn't see a single person that was overweight...EVERYONE was doing something active. gorgeous country.

Yes but that didn't change the law.

I didn't know if that was a step towards trying to change some policies or not.

It is the first step, but until the statute changes I am done with them.

The SW part of the state is my favorite...love it up there. But due to the cost of living and price of land, I don't plan on moving there, and due to their politics, I don't plan on taking a vacation there anytime soon. I'll just visit a bordering state. Utah, Wyoming, somewhere like that. I also like NM, but they're gonna be a blue state from now on....no thanks.

This is somewhat irrelevant but I lived in Flagstaff, AZ for 2 years and I don't know if you guys are familiar with the state but the hunting opportunities were terrible. First off the duck hunting isn't very good from what I experienced and everything else is a lottery system. If you get drawn and harvest successfully it increase your odds every time as does the amount of years you have entered, so being new to the state it was pointless to even register. I still entered for everything I could but in 2 years never drew a tag and out of about a dozen duck hunts I managed to kill 1 goose. A lot of guys complain about lack of hunting land in OK but they don't know how good we have it, in my opinion anyways.
