where to get para cord around Tulsa?

Postby LiquidA45 » Mon Sep 30, 2013 2:12 pm

Made my first lanyard last night and I really enjoyed it. I would like to crank some more out but Bass Pro only had 3 colors and I am looking for more options. Anyone know a good place around Tulsa/BA to get this stuff?

Try "army surplus" on Memorial just north of 41st st. Should be able to buy it by the spool or foot.

I actually went there after work and they had a good assortment of colors, thanks for the tip.

I was just at Lowe's and they actually have a large selection of cord. Army surplus will more than likely only carry olive green, black, or brown.

Army surplus had somewhere close to 40 colors. Multiple camo patterns, blues, reds, they even had glow in the dark and one laced with reflective material.

Yes, but what they have varies from year to year. They usually have some material netting on rolls, but it ain't very tough. Sometimes they will have the fishnet type with plastic diecut cable-tied to it (hard to describe), but that type that I saw last year looked dern "shiny". Years ago they used to actually have surplus "real netting"....the type our army boys use. It was pretty costly though. Haven't been to that store in a while; best I can say is go look?

Last netting I bought was from Sportsman Guide; they do sell surplus stuff (from all countries), but you never know what/if they have something. Ebay also sells a lot, but the quality never looked too good at the time I was shopping; plus a lot of the crap they make nowadays is shiny looking to me. Nothing I'd want to use.
