What kind of spreads this weekend?

Postby LiquidA45 » Fri Nov 01, 2013 11:26 am

What species of decoys is everyone throwing out this weekend? Hunting a farm pond this weekend with soy beans and winter wheat in the area. Saw geese yesterday and several dozen ducks but could not ID them from the distance. Figured I would put out a dozen full body geese, a dozen mallards, and a few pintails and widgeon. Not sure whats in the area but I figure I should be fine with this setup.

7 or 8 dozen teal, a handful of other ducks (probably pins) and a wad of goose shells on the mud. No spinners

I just bought 2 dozen academy widgeon decoys and all the coots they had! Gonna hope they pull in them banded mallgeonsprigs I've been eye balling since I got me a black hoody.

But I'm really gonna be running a dozenish mallard with some teal and a widgeon or two thrown in. May take along a dz or so full body goose as well

2 dozen g&h mallards, a half dozen gadwall, and 2 jerk cords. Might throw a spimmer in just for the wood ducks sake, but take it out after the sun shows.

2 dozen mix between teal, mallard, gadwall, and widget decoys.....

I'm going to have many out of the norm spreads to stand out from the yahoos....

Plus I wonder how many decoys I will find this year. :)

Depends. But probably 4 dozen mallards, 2 dozen wigeon, some pintails, some gadwalls, 8 geese, mallard machines, and spinners. Love those spinners on opening day.
