Question about Oklahoma Site Reservoirs

Postby cole1 » Mon Nov 04, 2013 2:50 pm

Hey guys, I have a lease and right next to it there is an Oklahoma Site Reservoir with a number... I understand these are built on private land and to gain access you would have to find out who owns the land... I know at least part of it must be leased because there are gates around the area with locks and one says leased hunting... What is the best way to inquire about a lease like this? How would I find the landowner??? My lease butts right up to it but nobody knows the owner of it and it looks like a great place to waterfowl hunt... Just wondering what the best way is to access owner or lessor info? I have thought about trying to catch someone going in or out and asking but haven't been able to catch anyone coming or going...

What county? The Tax assessor for the county is the best route.

If it's in central Oklahoma I can tell you. Send me a PM with nearest roads and Ill tell you. I have a great lease and am not looking. This is a no B.S. offer but I only cover Central Oklahoma counties.

Either a plat book or call the county acessors office and give them the legal description they can at least tell you who pays taxes on it. Another thing we have used when looking for land owners for surveys is find other land owners in the area and ask them, lots of time they will know the guy and be able to give you his contact info.
Those areant just any ducks those are dirty ducks.

We have 3200 acres of leased hunting around this thing and I can't find anyone that knows... I am going to call the County Assessor and see if I can get a Plat Map Book...

There are online records for most counties, what county are you talking about?
