There was a bill introduced this past session (SB216) to require a licensing of hunting guides in Oklahoma. I am all for it. It gets the illegitimate guides out and the legitimate guides will stay in.

It was passed by the Senate and the House budget committee but is awaiting full House consideration. In the meantime it has gone dormant. However, in reading the bill it seems as if the licenses would not require guides to carry liability insurance. I think a waterfowl guide should carry liability insurance since people are in possession of firearms and sometimes those in possession can be questionable on safety standards. It would help protect everyone.

People I meet assume I'm a guide cause I waterfowl hunt so much and have a bunch of neat things pertaining to waterfowl hunting.... I just say nope, I'm just a guy obsessed with chasing ducks.. :grooving: :grooving: :grooving: :grooving:

None of them scream native American to me. Possibly ss but I highly doubt it. Dw is irish if I had to guess possibly a touch of French although the 2 generally do not mix. And speck is just flat American.
I'm Mexican, can't you tell from the avatar?
Lol, you're actually dead on about speck, and possibly DW but I haven't asked him.
You use to have the best avatar of all time now it doesn't show up.

Jdog, you're doing a lot of surfing for guides? If you are that hard up, you can go with me. I only charge $37.50, but you have to bring me a pair of size 11 waders to borrow, and a thermos of coffee - black no cream/sugar. Also, I will need you to drive to "the spot" the night before and camp out at the gate to get our spot (gate opens at 5:00). I'll show up at 4:45 and my 10 year old daughter will switch to your vehicle to show you where to go, I'll be there shortly thereafter (BTW, she is our caller; been calling ducks for 10 months now). I recommend a shotgun 410 or larger, but 22s work fine (plus a few swan have been in the area but they tend to land wide so a 22 would be good). If you don't have any hunter orange, I do have extra vests and hats.

No need to bring a dog; I got a stellar kennel of retrievers.

I got plenty of dekes, but feel free to bring more

blinds we use

If he didn't post the last link I probably wouldn't have noticed....those geniuses hunt in the same general area I do. Hopefully after this week it will be "used to", because we will be doing some serious scouting at other places. It was a nice area to hunt the few years the fun lasted, time to move on to a new area and start the cycle again.
