Banded Speck I shot last year also came from "50 NE Shaglelug, Yukon-Koyukuk Cencus area, Alaska". Banded 7/12/12. VERY interesting our Specks were banded in same spot, probably by same guy!
Hahaha! Well, after 18 seasons without a band I have to play catch up.
I did some research on the speck banding up there and there are basically 3 places in Alaska where they concentrate strictly on Specks. It's the Midcontinent Greater White-Fronted Goose Banding program that has been going on since the 1960's. It's pretty interesting how they round these birds up while they are molting using aircraft.
