Just going through the mid-summer duck hunting withdrawls and found this site. Wanted to say hi and see if anyone on here is from the SE part of the state.

Thanks for the welcome. Antlers is about 45 miles South of McAlister along the Indian Nation Turnpike and 50 miles West of Broken Bow. Yeah, the off season blues are really bad for me this year for some reason, my Mack's PW catalog is starting to fall apart!

I would like to dove hunt, but have no "real good spots". I have a few spots, but after the opener, the doves are pretty much gone.

I don't have any good spots either, but Steve Perkins (guide), he does. Last year it was $40 for a 2 day hunt in a field near Coweta. Our group all limited out or almost did the first day, and the 2nd day it wasn't as good but it was still ok. In September I am usually fishing at Skiatook, thats when the sand bass really start hitting. :hammer:

I would be interested in the fields as well, sounds like it would give my boys and me a chance to get out, also my buddy has a 8 month old lab that he would like to get ready for duck season.

OkieQuack, What Species of duck do you shoot in southeastern Oklahoma. I live in Edmond so I hunt mostly in NorthWestern Oklahoma but I own 210 acres in Millerton Ok. Little river flows through my land and I heard ducks fly up and down that river. Is the duck hunting exciting enough for me to make that 3.5 hour drive?

Uh, yes, I will try to find the phone #. If I can't find it, just look in the classified section of the newspaper, it will be there in August.
