scouting app

Postby Big Griz » Fri Jan 10, 2014 8:26 pm

Going to be doing some scouting this weekend and I was wondering if you guys use an app on your cell phones to log the locations of birds you find or if you just use a paper map. I pinned a couple of spots last weekend on Google maps but the new version will not let you store a location unless it has an actual address. Any suggestions?

I have a service I provide where you only pay me $25/season. Every time you find birds or a location, just text me the cordinates and I'll track it for you. Sorry, that was too easy.

I'm old school. I carry maps/printouts and just mark it up, or remember it.

I love the idea of you putting your scouting info. on YOUR phone. I'll bet the NSA guys that hunt ducks wont have to hard of a time hacking into your phone to view scouting reports.

Seriously? Do you have that many places to scout that you forget where the birds were at?
Or, if your old like me and forgetful, then your phone, platt map, note book, etc
Is perfectly acceptable.
Lady walks into a bar with a duck, BARTENDER: "Hey, get that old coot out of here"
LADY: "That's not a coot, it's a duck!"
BARTENDER: "I was talking to the duck!"

Try having a fog where your visibility is 40yds in front of you. Good luck finding it using a map.
