I'm not the guy that likes to shell out for guides, but dad is turning the big 50 this year.
So I was thinking either cranes or geese, leaning more toward cranes though.

I know a lot of people recommend curt for cranes, so he will be my go to for cranes.
Anybody know of an outstanding goose guide?

I will not be going with crane wrecker, at $225 a gun no thank you.
Plus I've already made my mind on cranes, which I probably will be going with. The goose option is only if I cant get Curt.

To add to that, if you include a clip of a guy smacking a cranes head off with the barrel of his gun in your "promo" vid.
I'm sure as hell not giving you my business.

Bryan and Monte are two of the nicest guys you'll ever meet and they smash on cranes, and they will work their asses of to get you on birds. They only charge 50 bucks more than Curt. I don't know Curt but I've talked to a lot of people about him and I've never heard a good word said about. As a person anyways, he can kill birds alright from what I hear

Curt is a business man first and a friendly sportsman second. I was happy to move away from the general area he hunted years ago.

He is getting old enough now that I don't think he would fair well in many field battles. He is a character no doubt. He is a big fan of calling the state ALOT to tell them about all their inadequacies in managing their wildlife because he is trying to make a living by god!

He also holds the state record Saugeye for those that didn't know he fishes as well.

I have hunted with Curt several times. The first few times, I was extremely impressed with how hard he worked to get you on birds and the hunts were very successful. The last 3 times I hunted with him, I was not as impressed (but we did not kill many birds either, so maybe that is why I was not as impressed). I always thought that Curt was friendly enough. I thought his techniques were sound. I am thinking about scheduling another crane hunt with him this year.
