There are 2 types of public land hunters...
1. Those who hear the shots and hunt there next time...
2. And those who are the shots...

Last hunt of the year for me, ended on a good note, wasn't a limit but one more bling on the wing never hurts. :grooving: now we spend the next 9 months dreaming about opening day

DOn't think I'll make it out this weekend, pretty busy with other plans. Maybe I'll catch the last afternoon Sunday. Here's the last few I have. Over 300 birds for the season. Not bad

Here is a cool one of the last hunt of the season. Can you see the blinds??

On the left is my Marsh Rat all camoed up and on the right is my Avery Finisher w/ a NeoTub. Pretty cool set up. Now I just wish I could get a pair of each! :lol3: :grooving:

Sorry I can't be showing more of the scenery around, you know how it goes :fingerpt:

No it's an old broken BB gun. But he wouldn't go out with me if I didn't take him a gun too.

I like how you use the rake for taking care of the ice....I do the same thing once I have those big chucks out of the way. Works like a charm

Ya, we had never done that before. It just came to me while out there trying to kick it out of the spread with my leg. :lol3:

Another one that works good is: in water between knee deep and waist deep, stand with feet together, bending at the knees, push knees back and forth building waves. It looks funny as hell, but works good to get the ice moving riding the waves.

I'm actually laughing out loud right now, reading your last statement. My buddy has a video he took of me standing out in the dekes doing the exact thing you described in about 20 degree temps. Funny as hell like you said, but very effective!

I like using one of those military folding shovels for cutting the ice into the big sheets. When you fold it at 90degree angle it makes a good tool to pull large sheets of ice apart.
