Put my SI eastside draws in

Postby Swamp Puppy » Mon Sep 03, 2012 6:35 pm

Tossed in for a few reservation hunts on the eastside this year. I just put in for periods A-C now and might put in for the rest later on.

Stay tuned for open seat invites... :lol3:

Good luck with the draws. Let me know if you need an extra gunner with a bunch of cheap chinese made deeks.
I've been known to camp out in the res line for a good reservation.

I'm headed to the Decoy Barn tomorrow to put in for a few, and pick up a case of shells.

Hey, while you're there, ask Scott if Rob dropped off some DU raffle tickets for me.
When I spoke to Rob at the OWF he said he'd leave them with Scott at the barn.

Ed I already put in for all periods I possibly can in the state except for KF. Of course I cross checked them with the best tides so I don't miss out on them too. I like to use these to hunt with guys I don't normally hunt with or to pay back people who take me out on boat hunts or club hunts. Also a great way to avoid the whole your spot/my spot that inevitability happens.

But best of all I also like to use them to take my 11 year old out since they are pretty easy walks in for the most part.

Good luck. Given that you took me out to shoot my first duck.....I owe ya. But my wife might want to shoot you after what you turned me into.

Going to get in the non-res line oct.7 if anyone wants to join. Be nice to have someone to talk to other than the four idiots following me out there (buddies of mine who have never duck hunted). Hopefully we get two blinds side by side. So I can control them so they don't test their new pattern masters out to their fullest extent if ya know what I mean

Tealer, that might be a tough hunt timing for you there. Unless they are pumping water in there it may be too dry and weedy that early. Check with Scott or, better yet, call Rob. I think he lives right there and can look out his window to see what's up.

Of course, everyone pulls while I'm in Wyoming. I'm heading back for two weeks in Wyoming. Hoping to fill my second tag(cow tag). After that, I'll likely be duck hunting too. Unless I get a lead or angle on a wolf.
Good luck to you guys in those first few weeks.

There are places out there that pump water in early season. I'm hoping they put those pumps to use before I get there. Othwersise I'll be hunting over a weed filled dry lake bed.

Gonna be a campout party in the line that night. Wish I could make it. You need to bring yourself a BBQ and some of your deer backstraps.
Mudhen always shoots good in the beginning , if you can put up with the BS.

I will probably BBQ backstrap the night before. Probably do bacon and eggs in the am. Hopefully it will be a good time.

Tealer, I like my eggs over medium and the bacon extra crispy. Not picky about the coffee, just as long as it's hot. Say about 4:30 am? :lol3:

well, i'm out. hunting partner didn't have his federal stamp and by the time we sorted it all out..it was 11pm. too late to bother messing with it. heard that there were already 3 other guys with the same res as mine in line already.. Eric Strand and Jon Book were two of them. I'm not going to try to hunt the same small pond solo against those guys. lol.
