Went to check some of the ponds I hunt & tried to make some holes in them to get them opened up so when all the skybustn morons are out this weekend I'll have some spots to actually work some flocks & make magic happen. Well I'm sure glad I brought the chainsaw cause an axe isn't doing @#$% on these ponds. The ice is over 6" thick and was the hardest I've ever had to work @ opening up some water it took 2 of us over 4 hours to open a spot bout 40 yards wide on the deeper pond & we were only able to open maybe 15 yards on the other since the ice is so thick & the silt is thick. We got em open & when done with the 2nd one what we could do we drove back past the 1st pond & there were already 20-25 mallards on it. hard work pays off dividends when it comes to late season. As for every1 on the crooked this weekend keep skybustn em cuz u know those ducks up there 80-150 yards really are in range. Why waste the shells & time even going out do us all a favor & stay home & watch the playoffs or something & quite ruining everyone else's hunts. Don't even get me started on shootn another mans swing when the birds are working. Just glad all the ranches I'm hunting this weekend I have all 2 myself & many an acre surrounding me not being hunted.

Dude!!! I totally feel your pain regarding the yahoos on the CR. What a freaking zoo. I had some lazy ass road hunters trying to put the sneak on my deeks last Friday. I had to laugh a little, but at the same time I would I would have lost my mind had they sloosed them. Needless to say, I wont be back.

U have to b extremely careful up there I've had $%^holes up there shoot my deks b4 don't ever set up on the wide spots of the river on the opposite side of the road your just askn for an accident. I really wish OSP would set a sting like they do for big game and clean the rifraf off the river cuz a lot of pricks don't even bother gettn outta the truck let alone off the rd not to mention hunting in campgrounds.

:hammer: :grooving: :clapping: well we've done it again!!!!! We were able to do it yet again but today was the best of the season  yet. Very mixed bag & 4 of us got 25 ducks & 2 honkers in 4 hours & my fiance finally put the hammer down & crumbled her 1st ever honker & a big bastard at that  we got a lot of different species ringnecks, golden eyes, buffleheads, hooded merganzers ( for the wall) widgeon, teal, gadwalls & of course mallards. Wish we woulda brought widgeon deks but didn't see any in scoutn so mainly set diver spread, we woulda definately limited had we brought some puddler deks. I'm the happiest man alive 2day my future wife got her goose & us guys were picky & shootn birds for the wall. Now its time to pay the taxidermist!!!

Very nice bag of birds! That goose is a brute!
Lmao that's for sure biggest goose I've seen in a long time & she's thrilled & of course since its her 1st & took all season to get its going on the wall as well. Gonna weigh it today when we head to taxidermist & might get lucky enough to get the breast meat so mama can make her awesome white chili w it & the other 1

Found some today! This only a small % of what was in the field....

I know exactly where that spot is can't miss it since 80% of the geese in the valley are using it lol. Just sucks the owner won't let me on cuz he thinks it'll damage his crop. Think his thoughts are focused wrong cuz I'm sure the geese will do more damage than us walkn out & setting up but he's the boss

Good job Webfoot! Wanna trade some golden eye's for greenheads?
Thanks for the offer but where we've been huntn we have both  I'm just try to get a mature bull sprig & redhead for the wall seen both yesterday but it wasn't our turn I guess
I can help with the redheads. They love decoys, especially in lines.

This is the 1st year I've seen Redheads here in the CO & That's sounds awesome Tealer but unfortunately this year I can't travel to far from home our labs had pups on thanksgiving weekend & its just gettn time to find them homes. Having 9 dogs around has definately cut down on the blind time for sure, but there haven't been that many birds so I'm not missing too much
