Central Oregon Ice UPDATE

Postby Webfootslayer » Mon Jan 07, 2013 9:19 pm

Today we hit mid 40's outside & The ice is coming off very fast & I would think the rivers gonna rise over the next few days. The river ice is already opening up rapidly & gettn thin. Forcast doesn't look good for holding the ice for sure, the river section I hunt went from a hundred yards of open water yesterday to well over 3/4 mile of open water 2day. The ice around the around the hole we were walkn on yesterday is long gone. If you go out soon b careful as the ice is longer trustworthy.

ice is almost completely gone off the river but some of the lakes & ponds still have ice on them & most of the fields have lost 4 + inches of snow we just got since new years eve. Most of the ducks/ geese are really startn to spread out again so its time to get out & blast em since we r cutting it close to the season being over with for our zone. Time to break out all the deks & give em hell pick & choose & probly run the 15 doz silo spread a couple times

So how did you do hunting the river? I'm in cougar hunting mode until spring warm up. Cougar camp starts 2/15 thru 2/24 off the 2435 just west of cabin lake CC. :welcome:
