Northwestern Oregon Waterfowlin'

Postby LadyDogHaven » Mon Sep 04, 2006 11:40 am

Looking for a new place (public / private / refuge / club) to hunt ducks and geese in or around Columbia County.

We've done Sauvie Is. many, many, many, many... times.

We're open to joining a club if we can find one.

Any suggestions?

do you have a boat?

there are literally tons of opportunities around the area. Scappoose Bay..the islands around Clatskanie and westport..the lower river on the Lewis and Clark Federal Refuge (my stomping grounds)...there is also a neat little island just across from the Gobel boat launch that has always looked inviting.

if you are land bound..there are some lease opportunities for Geese in the fields around Scappoose. sorry, i don't really have any contact info for them as that is not my cup of tea.

Our fishin' boat won't quite work...maybe we'll add a duck boat to the regatta. Outdoors[people] can never have too many boats.

We'll scout around some of the places you mention.

Thanx for the info.

let me know if you have any questions...also, check out Cunningham Slough just outside of scappoose bay. it runs back into the north end of Sauvie, but gets you to places people won't normally walk to. watch for logs in the water though..they are abundant.

the slough is a hot place to hunt when the river is up...like it was last year.

well..after all that. there is probably a contract out on my life. lol.

shoot me a PM..i have some more info for you.
