On Saturday morning three of us hunted the Columbia River North of 205. At shooting time the birds were not shy to calls or decoys. There was ice on the river and the wind pushing down the gorge made for some challenging conditions but overall, it was a birdy start to the morning. With a few medium size flocks decoying well, the first two hours were entertaining. After that, clear cold skies with only a single or pair of birds flying by. Hunted 7am-12pm before the cold was too much.. There was more opportunity then reflected in the results:
Totals for the day:
2 Drake Mallards
Did I mention Cold, Cold, Cold!!
