Jump shooting ducks 1 1/2- 2 hours from Portland?

Postby JimboPDX » Sun Sep 11, 2005 5:22 pm

Any help would be great! I have mostly spent my hunting days chasing deer and elk, now I want to get into ducks/geese.

I thought jump shooting might be a great way to get into ducks to learn the ropes? Being a rookie and learning on my own, I am thinking that intense areas like Sauvies, or some of the other well known areas should be after a season or two under my belt. Anybody know a good place to jump shoot a few ducks?

Cheers,

Jim

don't be afraid of Sauvies..get yourself a few dekes and jump into the fray. yeah, you'll go through some growing pains out there, but it's a great place to learn to hunt ducks. it's close and they normally have lots of birds. you can always let me know when you want to go and i'll hook up with ya out there and give you a few pointers to help accelerate the learning curve.

as far as jump shooting them..i don't know of anyplace around here to do that.
