Its never to cold---Find some moving water--Anywhere---The delaware--Susky--Most of the streams are not froze--This is where scouting comes in big time. I have the spots that I hunt early season, then mid season and then late season--And believe it or not if you hit any in the wrong part of the weather you wont see a duck.
If you cant find the duck you hit find someone with a DD.

Breaking Ice

Postby h2ofowler84 » Sun Dec 18, 2005 9:25 am

On Friday Suskiedrake and I spent about 6 hours breaking ice and clearing space to get the boats out on the river. Those six hours paid off big time for us yesterday. We got a pair of mallards, drake ganser, drake bufflehead, and a drake hoodie. In the afternoon the geese decided to pay the spread a visit. Six came in and only one left(probably the banded one). Not a bad day on the river. I suggest spending the time like we did to break the ice if you want to get on the river.

It is all unfroze. Hopefully we will get some crappy weather this weekend and all will be right in the world.
