Nominations for a Wounded Soldier hunt.

Postby don taylor » Mon Apr 01, 2013 8:51 am

The Allegheny chapter of Delta Waterfowl will be holding a fund raising shoot to help sponsor a Wounded Soldier hunt. We have a venue, the guide and most of the logistics in order, but we are missing the soldier(s).

If you'd like to nominate a soldier to go with us, email us at

Alleghenychapterdw@gmail.com

We'll review the submissions and the committee will decide on who will be going. When we stop taking submissions, I'll post up here.

Thanks for looking.

No nominations, but a  .

Are you able to share any details as to where and what the soldier(s) will get to hunt yet?

Not everybody injured goes home with a Purple Heart. We're leaving it open and everybody will be considered. Obviously we want somebody who wants to hunt and not just fill the seat. We'd also like them to be from the western part of the state for several reasons. For one, we'd like them to attend the fund raising event potentially. Add that to transportation coordination and what not.... the closer to us and our chapter, the better. Also, being local would help get people to the fund raiser. None of this is set in stone. None of it. But, i feel like we need a guy or two to be what we focus onWe'll be waterfowling in the Eastern part of the state or NY.

So far, I have one nomination. A MP who lost a leg to an IED and is an avid hunter. He also lives local to us, where are chapter is. He would be a good candidate for nomination.

Like i said though NOTHING is set in stone.
