Just had one group come in today, no sure where the rest of them were. Between 8 guns we put down 12. If my buddy sends me a pic I will post it.

I was out for a couple of hours yesterday morning had one flock fly over me and dropped one better than I expected. There was a field about 3/4 of a mile away the birds were using and paid the price those guys in the field had a great opener one volley there must have been 40 shots taken it lasted for over a minute and I didn't see many birds leave congrats to them!

I only have a bad pic of two dead geese.

We hunted some water and tried picking on juveniles who got separated from the flock. We had a group of 4 come in for 5 minutes they were so far off. We killed 2 of them at 35 yards. We had a second flock see us, but they must have had an educated bird in the flock, they wouldn't come closer than 60. We didn't get skunked by that point nd even with the 10's nd BBB, they got a pass.

No bands, huh?

We got 3, and 2 bands.. It was a rough morning, got a quick hunt in before some unexpected plans.. But had we been all brushed in and ready 5 mins earlier we would have had a few more.. Maybe again next weekend.

Nice, Coleman. Way to start it off. I'm motivated to take a half day tomorrow and whack at some of these locals now. Just the inspiration I needed.

We had a pretty good first day. My brother couldn't make it so it was just dad and me. We managed 4, defiently could have got a few more. Shooting clays all summer is defiently not the same as shooting a goose! For some reason the majority of them that came in landed 10-15 yards out side the decoys, not sure why. The landing zone was defienly big enough. Was defiently fun though, especially hunting with dad. It was almost too much in your face action for the first day of hunting! We ended the day with a nice relaxing dove hunt, and I managed to go 4 for 4. I guess all those clays did pay off. We were defiently not on the x for doves. Have to do some more looking.

Here is from this years opener. Had 2 flocks work and we managed to drop 6. Should have been more, but the one guy along never shot geese before, and I wanted him to do most of the shooting.
