Tom,

How did you make out on opening day? I did not make it out this weekend but plan to be out this week. Hope to see something flying.

I'll be at SSMA Wednesday and Sunday! Hopefully there are geese down there! Been waiting for Duck to open. Last year we did better on the ducks than the geese.

Well we did pretty good. We dropped three.
We were at the SSMA as well.field #1
Guys there are a ton of geese down there right now. We had about three dozen dekes and were only able to bring in two small groups and two singles. They are flying in very large flights. Hope you guys have a lot of decoys!
A good frind of mine who is from Texas and is an accomplished bowhunter was thrilled to get his very first Canadian goose.

Oh and we did see a small flight of snow geese as well. They were pretty high.

Ill be out tommorow AM in the upper Bay area

Flier/rifleman,

Since you were both at SSMA last week I wonder if you noticed where all the geese were going. I was there both Tuesday and Thursday and each day I saw around 200 birds total, each day. It seemed that most of the birds were getting off the pond and heading North toward Rt 1. They would drop below the tree line some place hear Rt 1. From looking at Google Maps I find two possible locations that they may be landing.

1. The fields near the Perryville Hatchery on the North side of Rt 1.

OR

2. Mill Pond just South of Rt 1 opposite the hatchery.

Any other ideas?

Well when I was there they were droppin in the next piece of property next to our field. Pretty fustrating. I didn't see any go towards mill pond that day. They also were flying alomg the coast line as well.
