Hey there, considering a trip out east for January. I was wondering if anyone knows if the launch at Fort Getty Recreation Area on Beaverhead is iced in now, or do you know if it is typically open throughout the year? thanks for any info that you can provide!

There is a public launch down town Jamestown, it is a easy out from thier. Also it is about a 10 minute ride is state pier five in Narragansett, off Ocean Road. I live close to thier and have been seeing a ton of sea ducks around !!! Good Luck

Most of the launches in the southern part of the bay should be open that time of year. There may be ice in the ramps due to the surf wash. This time of year you have to go day by day. That part of the bay usually doesn't freeze up.
