Big Pee Dee River.

Postby hsfd199 » Thu Dec 16, 2010 12:47 pm

I had the best duck hunting day yesterday than I have ever had in my whole life of hunting waterfowl in the state of SC. I saw approx. 600 hundred woodys, 25-30 hooded maganser's, 50 green teal, 25 buffel head, and 75- 100 mallards. Just wanted to pass this info along to the duck hunters of SC.

That was definitely a good day fro the Pee Dee. I used to hunt the Pee Dee quite a bit but haven't in a few years. I have killed several different species on the Pee Dee but to see that many different species and the numbers is pretty good.

who would want to shoot hairy heads or buffleheads, maybe a buffle for a mount, or a kid to shoot at, but thanks for the heads up on the mallets and summer ducks.

I'm with you on the Mergansers and Buffles. The Buffleheads to make a pretty mount but that's about all they're good for. I can't really think of anything the HairyHeads are good for.
