SC Banded Pintail

Postby Bootlegger'sBoy » Tue Jan 18, 2011 6:01 pm

Last season I shot a drake pintail here in Oklahoma that was banded 1 mile south of Wateree, SC in 2002. Can anyone tell me about that area?

well what would you like to know. it is a small lake, with a river feeding it and one that goes down to the coast,(after joining the congeree river. doesn't hold alot of ducks, has resident goose population, small stripped bass, good crappie, white bass, and catfish. has state park above it, and a military rec area that has been there for at least 45 yrs i can remember going there while i was growing up. lots of damn red clay though. lol. as far as the banding project there i do not know much. i can ask and find out more about it. hope this gives a little insight. this might help

The bird was banded at Two Rivers hunting club.
A private club between the Congaree and Wateree rivers near Ft. Motte, SC.

It is a mid-state area quite alot of ducks raised and released in that area fairly good hunting if enough scouting is done.
You know your hunting in South Carolina when a bunch of ducks fly in and you shot both of them!!
