Hartwell doesnt hold that many birds or so i'm told. the water has been down for so long i think it drove the divers away. But this is all hearsay.
You know your hunting in South Carolina when a bunch of ducks fly in and you shot both of them!!

You gotta get on the water and burn some gas like everyone else. Scout, scout, scout and then scout some more. There's your help.

Best bet is to head south there buddy! The lowcountry's hunting is far superior!

Greenhead, he was asking about the population in general, not once did he mention a hunting spot....

But...if hartwell is your only option...you can head up to maw bridge road in central, or to sitton mill road in seneca area. Those are walk in spots, but the water level is pretty low. If you have a boat, occaisionally hundreds of ducks show up on the big water near the dam...Theres a impoundment near there, gotta hunt when they're hunting...Good luck and see you on the water, unfortunatly along with a few rubberheads that think they own the lake cause they burnt a lil gasoline...

I appreciate that man. Thanks for the info. I'm a sophmore at Clemson and I'm still trying to figure out the hunting up here. It seems as though you scout the night before you hunt and where you see ducks, is where you kill ducks that following morning. That's how we had the best luck.

Marshtaki, I am from the lowcountry and I agree, the hunting there is far better than up here. But when school is in, I still like to get out on the water.

Or we could just quit school, take our acceptance letters for a resume, get a good job, and move back to chucktown to hunt. just and idea. Come down to carolina this weekend, "a real school" and we will have some fun. Clear your schedule 3 weeks from now, back to the mountains.
