Draw Hunts

Postby creekgeek » Fri Dec 23, 2011 9:45 am

Saw the Murphy Island post below and was wondering if anyone else had been on any other draw hunts so far this year. I've been drawn for Samworth later in the year. Not real excited about that draw but I'd like to go to every draw hunt site and I guess this gets this one out of the way. Maybe we'll see a bird or two and if nothing else it's some different scenery to look at while duck hunting.

Let me ask a dumb question. How are you guys finding these draw hunts? Where do you go to find the information? Don't remember seeing anything on DNR website.

Thank you sir. I've looked all over DNR website and never saw it. Are any of those hunts generally any good? Are you sitting on top of someone else or do you pretty much have your are to yourself?

some are better then others but generally they are VERY good and you get plunty of space to yourself. I can honestly say I've never had a bad hunt on one.

There is no schedule posted online for any of the draw hunts. You have to apply in Sept or October and the application will have the dates available at each hunt location. You can choose any or pick individual hunt days. Look for the link next year.

There is a link on the main DNR page to see how each week's hunt went at each hunt site though.
