Yes on mud motor, but boat actually rode up on top of hyacinths after pushed enough in front. Had to back (read pole) out of what is usually an open creek.
Worst vegetation I have seen, of course this is the first teal season I have tried in many years so it could have been this bad in past years but seriously doubt it.
We did not have a real winter so the vegetation is thriving, just too bad we have so many carp eating what little duck food there is while all this crap is floating around.
Not good for gator hunting either, hard to see heads in daytime and eyes at night when clumps of hydrilla are everywhere and moving with the wind.
Also found thousands of young cypress trees in several formerly open lilly pad/lotus flats that are 3-6 foot high in what was open water several years back. These probably took root back in 07 when the lake was so dry and are now 5 years old ?
Some places young cypress are so thick had a hard time running even though the lake is nearly full and there was plenty of water because trees have reached size that they do not lay down and have to force between them.
Very discouraging to say the least.
