STATE WATERFOWL COMMITTEE WILL MEET DEC. 7 IN COLUMBIA

The Waterfowl Advisory Committee to the S.C. Natural Resources Board will meet 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7 in Room 335 (board room) of the Rembert Dennis Building at 1000 Assembly St. in Columbia.

The Waterfowl Advisory Committee was formed by the S.C. Natural Resources Board to explore the many different factors that affect South Carolina's waterfowl resources. The committee considers and discusses input from citizens and wildlife professionals, and reports directly to the S.C. Natural Resources Board with recommendations on such issues as law enforcement, management of Wildlife Management Area lands and state waterfowl hunting regulations.

The meeting is open to the public. Anyone with business for the Waterfowl Advisory Committee, needing the agenda or directions to the meeting place should contact Susan Johnson at the S.C. Department of Natural Resources in Columbia at (803) 734-3889.

Items scheduled on the agenda include:

Advisory Committee member comments
Constituent comments
Waterfowl Advisory Committee mission statement
Early WMA draw hunt results
Wood duck box program update
Pintail and mallard telemetry project
Phragmites aquatic weed control update
Everyone must believe in something and I believe I'll go hunting. When men bond something must die.
