Bird was shot in Berkeley County, West Virgina. Sorry I did not make that clear. I went hunting up there with my girlfriend's family. It was not shot here in SC. I wish it was. Bird was banded out of Canada.

How is everyones season going so far? Just got the boat back yesterday so I can finally start going again!! If any one wants to go some time soon let me know! I am willing to take anyone

Anyone interested in Columbia let me know. I have done most of my hunting outside of Chicago so not sure where to go here in SC. Who knows maybe we can work out a trip up to Chicago.

I think the only way to kill alot of ducks is to have a good duck network setup with guys that scout different areas and can pass along info to the other members of that circle. Tough part is finding people you trust, like hunting with and will keep their mouths shut. I think this is a great idea and I will be more than willing to go out and scout/hunt with some new people once I move down to SC in a month. Ill pull my weight and have been guiding and hunting ducks for over 20 years, so if you want to ever meet ill be in the charleston area. Here are some pics from this week in my current location.

also I had many a day like this on the snake river, don't expect to see 20,000 mallards in south carolina :welcome:

I know it's after season but I'm moving down to myrtle beach area. I don't know anyone and don't mind traveling, if anyone close by wants to join up for some hunts next year. I don't know any spots but I have a dog that loves to hunt and will be scouting out once I move down!
PM me if interested!

I'm up for it. Low country here but just moved here last year. I have duck hunted all my life but mostly on the Mississippi flyway.

Affirmative Cali... All were missing toes with exception of the Rud which I doubt came from a cage. Have killed wild birds in the same area and hard to tell the difference on the wing. Although the pen raised tend to fall in your lap as opposed to checking you out 3-4 passes. It's a practice that I don't necessarily agree with but enjoyed the hunt and still ate good!

I was wondering why so many of the birds here had toes missing. This is the first year I have hunted here and I had never seen that before. I thought maybe that I had just never noticed before. Is it common for people to release ducks around here? I have never heard of it before.

Welcome to SC Duckedo! Anything in the name of the kill. Don't have birds? Put those deep pockets to use.. Simply buy the ducks and bring them to you! Cause you wouldn't want to tie up too much time or effort in a hunt.. Being you're such a busy fella and all. After all, a hunt without a full strap is just unacceptable... In fact, if I don't kill my six. I don't even count it as a hunt and sometimes don't hunt the rest of the season because of it! . (Well, I hope y'all enjoyed that )

Well I suppose I just will not fit in around here then. I dont have deep pockets and like being out there weather the birds are in the air or not. Dont mean to stir the pot but i have toi ask if they have that much money why dont they just travel somewhere for a guided hunt? I would be happy to trade them a nice Mississippi river hunt for some of those dollars that are burning a hole in their pockets.
