Spring snows

Postby ducksbuck » Sun Feb 12, 2006 10:03 pm

I want to come to South Dak to see lots of snow geese. Don't care too much about shooting. Any suggestions? My friend goes to Lake Thomson area. I am thinking about going there.

Are there many birds stageing around Vermilion?

Thats a good area to start. You just hope they don't come around spring break because you will be fighting aton of people for fields and ditches. Last year there were people every 100 yrds in a 5 mile radius pass shooting them. Good luck.

Lake preston is good. Long Lake is good. If you find a high hill and glass you can find the big flocks. 3 years ago we hunted every day in march in the lake preston-ponsit area. For every good day you have 8 bad days but the one good one is worth it.
