Amount of Water...decisions...decisions....

Postby Erie » Fri Sep 23, 2011 8:31 am

You guys think that with the amount of water that is hanging around that the ducks are likely to use the same hole more than 1 day? Thinking about using my post deployment leave to come back to SD to shoot some pheasants and ducks but pending the water situation it could be tough as they can really be spread out.

Either case you all be safe this opener and be sure to post of some duck porn for all of us that arent as fortunate yet.

Is getting permission from private land owners NOT enrolled in some time of drug deal with the state possible for waterfowl hunting Potter, Sully, Hughes, Stanley and Lyman? Those are the only county's they have left for non-res hunting licsence.

A simple "Yes" or "No" will be sufficient.

Hey Erie-your post sounds like what we are trying to get a handle on. I have a group of 4 3 from Iowa one South Dakota- we will be staying in Aberdeen area and have private land pheasants with friends. We are looking to combine with waterfowl and it seems private land in the Potter and Sully area is the only non resident license gig around. Have no connections and looking for a couple day hunts for ducks geese and maybe combo it with pheasants-or even any other upldand available like partridge etc. Any ideas? We have solid lab for the upland and veteran pointers with lots of Kansas and South Dakota experience. Oct 27-28.
Looking for ideas-
