Moving to S.D.

Finally your blessed state gave me the right opportunity to go live there. Anyways I have alot of family that live all over S.D. but none of them waterfowl so does anyone know what I should expect in Tripp county area? Gregory/Winner area?

spent 10 great years in pierre. shot a lot of ducks off of stock dams. bet they have those down your way.

Im not sure about waterfowling in that area, im in brookings, but i know that youre in a great spot for pheasants! i would assume that you could head towards the river though for some great late season waterfowling, ducks and geese.

Do the Snow Geese follow the river or do most of them go threw the lake system around and North of Brookings?

In the fall the snows will come down by Brookings. In the spring it's a crap shoot. Last 2 years they've gone as far as the river to try and make it up. Just have to scout.

Thanks and maybe we can swap some hunts when I get up there. Do you hunt mostly private or public?

I hunt both. But mostly private. The public I do hunt I've never seen anyone else hunt it so it's basicaly private.
