South Forked Deer Refuge

Postby ForkedRiver » Mon Nov 14, 2005 1:26 pm

Has anyone heard anything about the possible draining of the south forked deer refuge located right off of highway 412 near jackson. Any information on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

I heard something earlier in the year that they were going to start letting it flood by the rise and fall of the river. Maybe I can find something on it.

I am not sure whether or not they are going to flood the refuge or not. I drive right by there heading out of Jackson and into Bells during duck season. If they end up pumping water on that place, they could be quite the honey hole. In the past, I've seen several hundred ducks working all three of those big fields just off of 412.

I had heard that they were going to be flooding the woods on the refuge, but were going to stop flooding the two fields. I am away at school, and was just wondering if anybody had anymore info on the situation.
