West TN Lease Needed

Postby utgreenhead » Mon Sep 05, 2011 7:15 am

I'm looking to lease a proven duck/goose spot for my family. There are five of us (only four this year due to one of my cousins being deployed to Kuwait this year).

We're a family of hard working duck hunters that obey all hunting regulations.

A place with food would be nice for this year and future years we are willing to plant ourselves. If there is no standing blind, we're willing to build after the spot proves itself to us (we'll wade or hunt from boat the first year). However, if we build a blind we will want to lock a lease up for at least five (5) years. We prefer ten (10). ATV access is preferred, but we also have boat(s).

ha.. your looking for a proven lease with food in west TN IN SEPTEMBER????

even most of the bad leases are taken by now... and if your looking in NW Tn your even more screwed.. the last leases are usually locked in after the blind draw. that was a month ago..

i'm just telling you like it is... good leases don't come up very often.. even most average leases are taken pretty early in the year, and after those people that don't get drawn pick through what little is left, you dont have many options..

i know of a lease outside of martin that is 5k (5-7) for 150ft... yes feet of river front.. you might kill some woodduck if you hunt it and are on your toes when they come by..

there is another one that may still be available.. 2500 for a pit down by reelfoot.. no food, very little water and will kill maybe 60 birds if you hunt it hard.

you are much better off boat blind hunting..

and i don't know it "ALL" about the hunting in NW TN, but i know a hell of alot..

Yea, we know we're late in the game, but we just had our leased land purchased by someone that then leased it to some of their friends (out from under us). We thought we were set for another 500-800 bird year, but that's how quick things change.

This is why we're looking for a quick, but proven (we're a bit spoiled  ) spot. We hope to be able to call it home for a number of years.
