Retriever Trainers

Postby L.Watson1 » Sun Sep 15, 2013 8:11 am

I am moving my family back home to TN from Va since I will be spending quite sometime outside U.S and my wife will be about 10+ hrs from the retriever who started my lab. I am looking for someone in Tn who is a good reliable trainer. My pup is started and I hate I cannot send her back to same guy. Any recommendations for trainers in TN ? Thanks

I thought about getting him to sign my cleavage, but decided against it at the last moment.

Could we be more specific as to what kennels and not County and State ? That is not very detailed.

 Timber Creek trained my pup and did a great job with a troublesome hound...highly recommend them. Location wasn't too much of an issue with me as they were constantly back/forth between SE TN and Pontotoc, MS, and made it convenient to meet them for progress visits, and train-the-handler sessions.

If you are looking for someone a little closer to Paris, Jimmy Mcmahan and Sur-Shot Retrievers in Covington, TN.

I will second willow point retrievers. Nick is a great guy and trainer. he lives a mile from me and I've trained with him several times. he knows how to read a dog and tailors his program around what the animals needs are..not vise versa.
Another one i highly reccommend is Linda Brewer. I worked for linda for a year and she taught me everything i know from ff to finished level work. either one of these will work their tail off to get the best possible results.

My wife and I just purchased a lab out of Utah, and will be getting him here the middle of July. We live in Mount Juliet, and would love to hear any suggestions for trainers within a few hours if possible. Any help is appreciate; and thank you! Wish I knew more, just moved from Utah! :hi:
