patternmaster works really well in most brands of guns.

He's right the patternmaster has a good tight pattern. I don't know anything about the kick's. I shoot the Extended full patternmaster and it does pretty good with the kent 3 1/2". But if you want to keep friends in the pit you prolly should go with the kick's because my hunting buddies say the patternmaster is extremely loud to them.
