Just booked a hunt for the 19th and 20 with Mike Newsome. Wanted to know is their a cheap or resonable motel close by to stay in. i checked Blue Basin Cove and really don't want to spend over a hundred bucks a night and checked out Airpark Inn and they are booked the Sat. the 20th. Any info would help. Thanks guys!!---Jake

Stay at the Samburg Motel it is right accross from the Lake. It is reasonably inexpensive, (it has a kitchenette and a full sized fridge) Mrs. Bunch is a great lady and they will go out of their way to accomodate you. They run the market across the street as well so you might have to check in there.

It is old and has character but it is a place to stay.

Is Acorn Poi nt the place that use to be a nursing home? I think it is, a little weird. Have a great time, are you hunting with Mike or someone else? Post up on your experience.

Give Gracie at Mallard Point Lodge a call. We stayed there a few weeks ago and it was great. 4 br, 2 bath, house $100 per night.

She also has a smaller unit for rent will sleep 4 or 5 for $80 per night. Very clean and really nice.

How'd you guys do with Mike? We were down there Jan.2-4 and hammered them the first 2 days! I beleive we shot 94 ducks out of our blind in 3 days. We hunted with Brian and Stacy. Great guys to say the least. This was absolutely my best waterfowl hunting experience ever. Can't wait to go back down there.

Glad to hear that you guys did good as well. Definately going back again! I told Bryan, Stacey, and Mike that I can't wait till the day that I have my kids come down with me and they're not even born yet! Hoping to make that an anual trip!
