Just booked a hunt for the 19th and 20 with Mike Newsome. Wanted to know is their a cheap or resonable motel close by to stay in. i checked Blue Basin Cove and really don't want to spend over a hundred bucks a night and checked out Airpark Inn and they are booked the Sat. the 20th. Any info would help. Thanks guys!!---Jake

Stay at the Samburg Motel it is right accross from the Lake. It is reasonably inexpensive, (it has a kitchenette and a full sized fridge) Mrs. Bunch is a great lady and they will go out of their way to accomodate you. They run the market across the street as well so you might have to check in there.

It is old and has character but it is a place to stay.

My dad got us in at Acorn Point. Every place the Mike's wife Annette recommended us too was booked. so we now have a place to stay and are ready for the hunt!! I just hope birds are there while we're there! My dad and brother and I have never killed a widgeon nor pintail and i realy hope this will be the place we get our trophies!!!

How'd you guys do with Mike? We were down there Jan.2-4 and hammered them the first 2 days! I beleive we shot 94 ducks out of our blind in 3 days. We hunted with Brian and Stacy. Great guys to say the least. This was absolutely my best waterfowl hunting experience ever. Can't wait to go back down there.
